Fire hoods have an Arc Thermal Performance Value and this hood is ranked at 34, meaning it can tolerate against 34 calories of heat per square centimeter. Of course this hood is also certified to NFPA 1971 for Structural and Proximity Fire Fighting Clothing and 1975 for Station/Work Uniforms.

If you're into ratings you'll also want to know the hood has a TPP rating of 36, which increases with washings. Speaking of washings, you can easily clean this hood with plain soap and warm or cool water, air drying in about 2 hours.
